Hi Amanda, Thank you for your question. The cartridge for your tub/shower valve is the RP19804 if the faucet is older than February 2006 and the top of the cartridge is white. If the faucet is newer than February 2006 and the top of the cartridge is gray the cartridge is RP46074. The stem assemblies for the roman tub faucet should be RP24096 for both the hot and cold sides. You will also want to change out the RP4993 seats and springs when you change out the stem assemblies.
Thanks,
Dave

Question

Which cartridge to use

I have a Delta Monitor 1700 series shower valve that I do not know the year it was installed. It has what looks like the Victorian trim according to pictures on your website. The problem is that I have found 2 different cartridges on your parts
lists that say they are for this valve. How do I know which one I should get for sure?

Hi Iver, Thank you for your question. If your 1700/17 series faucet is older than February 2006 and/or the cartridge has a white top, the RP32104 will be the correct cartridge. If the faucet is newer than February 2006 and/or the cartridge has a gray top then the RP46463 will be the correct cartridge.

Hi Willie Nelson, Thank you for your question. As a general rule of thumb if the set screw is on the back of your existing roman tub spout the newer trims should work. If the set screw is on the front of the spout, or if there is no set screw at all on the spout the rough in valve will have to be changed as well. Check that the spout connection on the existing valve matches the connection on the new rough in R2707. Here is the link.

Hi Ter, Thank you for your question. You can try soaking the tub spout in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to help break up mineral deposits which is the most likely cause of the leaks since the mineral build up doesn't allow the diverter to seal properly. If the cleaning does not improve the performance of the tub spout, the spout should be replaced.

Question

comparison of faucets from different stores

I am planning to buy a new Delta kitchen faucet. The plumbing supply store representative told me that their Delta faucets would be a higher quality than those sold at Lowes or Home Depot. The difference would be that some parts inside the faucet would be plastic rather than metal, etc.

Is there any difference in the quality or parts between your faucets according to which store or online dealer sells them?

Thank you for the information

Hi Patti, Thank you for your question. If you are purchasing a Delta product whether online, from a retailer, or a plumbing supply if the product is the same model number the product will be exactly the same. The faucet model 567LF-MPU purchased from Amazon, Home Depot, or Fergusons would be the exact same item.

Hi Sam, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your faucet. You will need to determine where the water flow is being obstructed. I have attached the part of the manual that covers low flow below. If cleaning the aerator and debris screen do not improve the flow you will want to check the water stops and check valves, the wand assembly, and the solenoid itself to see what the water flow is like at those locations. This should help isolate the cause and once cleaned or replaced improve the faucet performance.

Dave

Question

Replacement of old roman tub spout

I'd like to replace the trim on a 1995 Delta roman tub spout, anti-swivel hole in tub, and set screw on back so I bought the BT2710 trim kit and it does not clear the side of the tub (too short a reach). Is there any other longer trim that would fit this?
I've read your answers to similar questions and you mention a BNT2710SS model, but I can't find that anywhere to check it out, what is a BNT vs BT?

Hi Kathi, Thank you for your question. The roman tub trim that has the largest base to cover the anti-swivel pin hole is the T2710. The spout for this trim is 1-11/16" longer than the spout in the model BT2710. The BNT2710SS is not a valid model number, it is most likely a typing error.

Question

Tub Spout Replacement

I am replacing my basic builder grade Monitor 13 series trim with Lahara trim. The problem I have run into is that the current tub spout is a front threaded spout and the Lahara tub spout is a rear threaded. What are my options to be able to use the Lahara spouts?

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your question. The RP51303 tub spout that ships with the Lahara 13 series will ship with an adapter that will thread onto 1/2" pipe or sweat onto 1/2" copper pipe. If your existing spout uses galvanized pipe you will have to purchase a shorter pipe nipple. If your existing spout is using copper pipe you will in most cases cut the pipe to a shorter length and sweat on the adapter to make the new spout fit properly. The spout instructions will cover the necessary installation specifications.

Question

What trim will fit R2700 stem?

I have a circa 1993 Delta Roman tub faucet, gold in color that I would like to upgrade to a more modern fixture. The existing stem has a plastic adapter that is slid over the stem to accept the handle. I am told this is R2700 series, although I cannot find any numbers on the stem. The spout has a anti rotation pin that enters a hole drilled in tub. I would also know how to remove the gold collar plate that sits flush with the tub surface under the faucet handle. I would like to know what series of trim are compatible with the stem series installed. Thanks

Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. With the swivel pin installed the Delta trim that comes close to covering up the additonal hole under your existing faucet is the BT2710 or BNT2710SS. The remainder of the trim is compatible with your existing rough.

Question

Looking to change from a brass bathroom to a stainless steel bathroom

Our house is 20 years old. Looks like we have the 13 series but may be a model earlier. Closest I can see is the model T13220-PBSHC but we have the standard round plastic handle.
There is no cartridge. There is a brass retaining screw or disc that holds in the round sphere that has three holes on the top and three holes on the bottom

We would prefer to just upgrade to stainless steel without having to cut into the Sheetrock and install a new rough in.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Bevan, Thank you for your question. If your single handle turns counter-clockwise to turn the faucet on, clockwise to turn off and does not pivot it is most likely a 1300/1400 series faucet. You can switch the trim on your existing faucet out to a new 13/14 series trim using your existing rough in valve. The new trim will come with a RP46074 cartridge. The new cartridge will not work in your existing valve. You will have to continue to use your old cartridge or purchase a new RP19804.

The replacement stem unit assembly the RP1991, and the RP4993 seats and springs to repair the faucet are still available. The valve body itself is no longer available. The R10000 is our new multichoice rough but it is not compatible with the 1600 series trim.

Tub Only Alternatives

The collection that I have chosen does not include a tub only trim kit, however I have found that Home Depot has the valve only trim kit and a non-divertor spout. Will purchasing these items work with my tub only configuration or must I choose a collection that has a tub only kit?

Question

Will a Roman Tub faucet model BT2710 fit a spout with an anti- swivel pin underneath?

If there is an anti- swivel pin underneath my Roman Tub spout, will the model #BT2710 fit as well as the T2710? Is there any difference besides looks between the two models? What does the "B" stand for? I only want to change my trim installed in 1993. And if there is no anti-swivel pin will any trim fit, including the BT2710? Also, does it matter where the set screw is on my tub deck? I have attached pictures.

Hi Andrea, Thank you for your question. If your roman tub spout has the anti-swivel pin the spout from the BT2710 is the largest base spout available through Delta, a portion of the anti-swivel pin hole may be exposed when using this spout. If your spout does not have the anti-swivel pin then based on your photos the new trims will work with your existing rough in valve.

Question

Will any Delta trim fit my Roman Tub with Delta valves installed in 1993?

I have a Roman Tub with Delta trim, valves, and parts installed in 1993 when the house was built. Can just the trim be replaced with the Addison Trim (T2792)? I would have to remove tile on the front side of the tub to replace the rough(valve) and I don't want to do that. Do I also need to buy a cartridge?

Hi Andrea, Thank you for your question, In most cases if the set screw that holds the roman tub spout onto the valve is on the back of the spout you can replace the trim only with a newer version like the T2792 using your existing rough in. If the set screw is on the front of the spout or if the spout has no set screw at all the rough in valve will need to be replaced as well.
